Our Story...

Her Story

Ashley was born on the small South Pacific island of Samoa on March 21st, 1989. She was lovingly raised with four younger siblings (Angelica, Alex, Alisha, and Andrea) by Virginia Bird and Michael Workman. With their support, Ashley has traveled all over the world performing qualitative cultural research in the United Kindgom, Cambodia and French Polynesia. In 2013, She was awarded her bachelors degree in Medical Anthropology and Global Health with a focus on bioethics and humanities from the University of Washington. Shortly thereafter, Ashley began working as a private school teacher. On January 1st, 2013,  Ashley decided to have lunch at a local Italian resturaunt, where Andrew decided to introduce himself.

His Story

Andrew was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 27 1984. He was adopted by Edward & Vickie Hoffman of Hastings, MI. When he was adopted, Edward and Vickie already adopted another son, Eric. (He also has an older sister, Lisa and a half sister, Erin.) When he was 18, he joined the United States Army, serving 11 years honorably. He ended up at Joint Base Lewis McChord, where he met Ashley for the first time. He is currently going to Green River  College to get his BAS in Airport Management.
